How long will a 100Ah lithium battery run a trolling motor?

The run time of your trolling motor depends on the amp hour (Ah) capacity of your battery and the motor's current draw. Follow this simple formula:

Run Time (hours) = Battery Capacity (Ah) / Motor Current Draw (A)

For example:

Your trolling motor draws 54A at full throttle. You have a 100Ah battery.

Run Time = Battery Capacity / Current Draw

= 100Ah / 54A

= 1.85 hours

= 1 hour and 51 minutes

So the 100Ah battery would run the 54A motor for about 1 hour 51 minutes at full speed.

To find low speed run time:

If the motor draws 10A at half throttle.

Run Time = Battery Capacity / Current Draw

= 100Ah / 10A

= 10 hours

Can I use LiTime 12V 100Ah TM LiFePO4 lithium batteries as starting batteries?

This trolling motor battery is specifically designed for deep cycle use, providing steady, long-lasting power for your equipment. It is not intended to be used for starting an engine.

Can I charge LiTime 12V 100Ah TM LiFePO4 lithium batteries in cold weather (under freezing temperatures)?

Charge with peace of mind in colder conditions. To prevent cell damage, this battery is equipped with an automatic low-temperature protection system that stops charging if the temperature drops below 32°F (0°C). The safe charging range is 32°F to 113°F (0°C to 45°C).

For best results in winter, we recommend charging the battery indoors.

How to charge LiTime 12V 100Ah TM lithium batteries?

The battery can be fully charged in one day (with effective sunshine 4.5 hrs/day) by 300W solar panels. It may take more than one day to fully charge the battery by ≥300W solar panels since the duration and intensity of light would be a great factor for their charging efficiency.

2. Generator/Alternator

If the alternator or generator supports DC output, a DC-to-DC charger is needed to connect the battery to the generator; if your alternator or generator supports AC output, please add a suitable battery charger to connect the battery and the generator according to our recommendations. The Recommended Charging Voltage: 14.2V - 14.6V. The Recommended Charging Current: ① 20A (0.2C): the battery will be fully charged in around 5 hrs to 100% capacity; ② 50A (0.5C): the battery will be fully charged in around 2 hrs to around 97% capacity.

3. LiFePO4 Smart Chargers

To charge 12V battery, it is recommended to use 14.6V battery charger.

The Recommended Charging Voltage: 14.2V - 14.6V.

The Recommended Charging Current: ① 20A (0.2C): the battery will be fully charged in around 5 hrs to 100% capacity; ② 50A (0.5C): the battery will be fully charged in around 2 hrs to around 97% capacity.

How many batteries can I connect the trolling motor batteries in max?

You can connect multiple 100Ah batteries to create a system that meets your power needs. This model supports the following maximum configurations:

In Series (to increase voltage): Connect up to 4 identical batteries for a 24V, 36V, or 48V system.
In Parallel (to increase capacity): Connect up to 4 identical batteries to build a larger power bank (e.g., 200Ah, 300Ah, or 400Ah).
In Series-Parallel: Connect up to 16 batteries (in a 4 series x 4 parallel setup) for a high-capacity, high-voltage system, such as 48V 400Ah.

For Safety and Performance:
To ensure your battery bank operates correctly and lasts as long as possible, all connected batteries must be:
✔ Identical: Same model, capacity (Ah), and BMS.
✔ The same brand (LiTime).
✔ Purchased around the same time (within one month is best).

How do I store LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries?

For optimal longevity, store your LiTime LiFePO4 batteries under the following conditions:

Storage Recommendations

State of Charge (SOC): Store batteries at a 50% state of charge. Avoid storing them fully charged or completely discharged.
Regular Recharging: If storing for an extended period, recharge the batteries to 50% at least every three months to prevent deep discharge and maintain cell balance.
Temperature: The ideal storage temperature is between 10℃ and 35℃ (50℉ and 95℉).
Humidity: Maintain a relative humidity of 45% to 75%.
Protective Casing: It is highly recommended to store the batteries in a dedicated battery box to protect them from physical damage, dust, and moisture.

Best Practices for Long-Term Storage

For storage exceeding three months, adhering to these guidelines will significantly preserve your battery's health and performance:

Disconnect Completely: Ensure the batteries are disconnected from all loads and charging sources. This prevents slow parasitic drains that can lead to over-discharge.
Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Storing batteries outside the recommended temperature range can accelerate degradation. In particular, high heat can permanently damage the battery's capacity.
Cycle Before Use: After a long storage period, it's good practice to cycle the battery (one full charge and discharge) before putting it back into regular service.

How do I monitor the battery's real-time data?

This battery model does not feature built-in Bluetooth. To monitor its status, you can pair it with a battery monitor.

I’d really like to give a 5 star review because I understand how a poor review looks against your businesses name but 2 stars is the best I can do.

I ordered 3x 12v 100ah Trolling Motor batteries but got sent only 2 and one 24v instead. You can’t mix battery types.

I raised the issue only to be told that they won’t send the 3rd 12v battery until they get the wrong battery back.

If being held to ransom isn’t bad enough, they said all that needs to be done is for them to send me a label and I can send it back and I’m told now by the customer service department (Kandy has been great BTW) that the local Australian warehouse isn’t responding and that was over a week ago.

I’m in a country town and am a week out from having the trolling motor installed with a heavily booked contractor and if I can’t supply the set of batteries I’ll have to wait another 6 weeks because I’ll miss my spot.

Very frustrating.
