Can I charge LiTime 12V lithium batteries with solar panels?

Yes, you can. LiTime batteries are compatible with several charging methods:

Solar Panels: This is an excellent way to charge your batteries off-grid. You must use a solar charge controller between the panels and the battery to regulate the voltage and ensure a safe, efficient charge. For recommended solar panel sizing, please refer to your battery’s product manual.
AC-DC LiFePO4 Charger: Use a dedicated LiFePO4 battery charger that matches your battery's voltage specifications. This is the most common and straightforward method for charging from a standard wall outlet.
Alternator / Generator:If your alternator or generator has a DC output, you will need a DC-to-DC charger to safely charge your LiTime battery.If it has an AC output, simply connect a compatible AC-DC LiFePO4 charger to it, just as you would with a wall outlet.

Inherently Safe Chemistry: LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) is the most stable lithium battery chemistry, with exceptional thermal stability that makes it highly resistant to overheating and fire.
Advanced Battery Management System (BMS): Every LiTime battery contains an internal BMS that acts as the brain of the battery, providing multi-level protection against: Over-charging and Over-discharging, Over-current, High and Low Temperatures, Short Circuits
Rigorous Certifications: Our battery cells meet stringent international safety and quality standards, including UL, FCC, CE, RoHS, and UN38.3, ensuring they have been thoroughly tested for reliability and performance.

How do I monitor the 12V lithium batteries

Monitoring your battery is easy! The method depends on whether your model includes Bluetooth.

For Smart Batteries (with Bluetooth)

If you have a Smart model, like our 12V 100Ah Group 24 Smart, you can conveniently monitor its status directly from your smartphone.

How: Simply download the LiTime App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
What you'll see: The app provides real-time data like voltage, current, temperature, and remaining capacity.

For Standard Batteries (without Bluetooth)

For all other models, you will need an external battery monitor. This is a separate device that connects directly to your battery system and uses a shunt to provide a dedicated screen with all of your battery's vital statistics.

Can I connect multiple 12V LiFePO4 batteries together?

Yes, you can. Our 12V batteries are designed to be connected in series or parallel to create a larger battery bank. However, to ensure safety, performance, and the longevity of your batteries, it is crucial to follow these guidelines.

Understanding the Connections

Series Connection: Increases the total voltage. (e.g., two 12V batteries in series become a 24V system).
Parallel Connection: Increases the total capacity (Amp-hours). (e.g., two 100Ah batteries in parallel become a 200Ah system).

All LiTime 12V batteries can be configured up to a maximum of 4 in series and 4 in parallel (4S4P), for a total of 16 batteries.

⚠️ Critical Connection Requirements

Before connecting your batteries, you must ensure they meet the following criteria to prevent damage and ensure proper operation:

Same Model: All batteries must be the same model with the identical capacity (Ah) and BMS current rating (A).
Same Brand: Only connect LiTime batteries with other LiTime batteries. Different brands use unique Battery Management Systems (BMS) that are not compatible.
Similar Age: All batteries should be purchased within a close timeframe (ideally within one month) to ensure they are in a similar state of health.
Fully Charged & Balanced: Crucially, before connecting them, fully charge each battery individually. Then, check that their voltages are within 50mV (0.05V) of each other. This prevents imbalances that can damage the cells.
